Equality and diversity

The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) Disability Equality Scheme shows what we are doing to eliminate discrimination and promote disability equality. IPS strives to place disability equality at the centre of everything we do, whether we are providing services or employing people.

The scheme aims to show:

what we are doing to promote disability equality in all of our work throughout IPS
how we will eliminate potential disability discrimination in our services and employment practices.

The scheme is set out as follows:

the scheme introduces the work IPS has undertaken which acts as foundations for the Disability Equality Scheme
how we involve people with a disability in the Scheme and partnership work, and how we have gathered our information and raised awareness of disability equality throughout IPS
the scheme also highlights how we support staff with disabilities
what we are doing to assess our policies and processes in order to eliminate disability discrimination and promote equality through the Equality Impact Assessment and our Disability Equality Scheme action plan.
