Passport Validation Service (PVS)

passport validation service IPS' Passport Validation Service (PVS) began in 2006 to support the business community in preventing fraud. PVS is now widely used. Financial services organisations and government departments have benefited significantly from PVS.  The service has prevented a number of fraudulent transactions since its inception, and the saving to business has been millions of pounds. It is now a business critical tool for any organisation where UK identity are presented as proof of identity.

Working in Partnership with IPS

Business and public sector organisations who will be working with IPS on the National Identity Scheme are termed suppliers and stakeholders.

Suppliers are commercial organisations that will provide the necessary products and services for the National Identity Scheme.

Stakeholders are all organisations that that stand to benefit from the National Identity Scheme. Key stakeholders may include financial organisations and legal services professionals. In the public sector, key stakeholders will be the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), and other government organisations.
