Passport Officer 1

The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) was created on 1 April 2006 following the passing of the Identity Cards Act 2006. This new Executive Agency of the Home Office was formed by joining the UK Passport Service with the Home Office Identity Cards Programme. IPS provides passport services and will in the future provide ID cards and related identity services as part of the National Identity Scheme.
