Passport interviews

Why have interviews been introduced?

Interviews are being introduced to the passport application process to help prevent the growing trend of passport fraud and forgery and the other crimes that can result from it including: illegal immigration, identity theft and benefits fraud.

Passport interviews are a major Identity and Passport Service initiative aimed at improving the integrity of the identity authentication and passport issuing process.
