How to find us

We have seven passport offices in total, one in London and six around the country.

You do not need to visit an office unless your application is urgent ie you need to travel in less than two weeks. (See Urgent applications for more detailed information.) We advise you not to book any travel arrangements until you have received your new passport.

Please make an appointment before you arrive at any of our offices. To find out which is your nearest office and to make an appointment, you should call the 24-hour Passport Adviceline 0870 521 0410 (see terms and conditions).

If you are not travelling within the next two weeks, please use the Apply for a passport section of this website. It will explain how to apply for a new passport or how to renew or amend your existing passport in the normal way.

Please note:

currently demand for appointments throughout all IPS Regions is exceptionally high, and you should therefore allow at least two weeks for your appointment date.
if you make an appointment, please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time. You will not be seen any earlier and your admission will be delayed until the appropriate time. This is to ensure our counters are as pleasant as possible for all our visitors.
customers should be aware that all callers to our counters may be screened on entry, to ensure the safety of our staff and other customers. Any item considered to be of a potentially dangerous nature may be removed for safe keeping before entry to our premises is allowed.
